Weekly Mindfulness Practice Group


Many people say continuing encouragement and support help them build on the benefits of their 8-week mindfulness course. We understand!

Dean leads group at the Narara Ecovillage near Gosford.  The group is an excellent way to encounter mindfulness practice for the first time, so newcomers are always welcome.

It will help you create a calm, focused mindset for the week. We offer two unique elements and you can attend either or both.

Venue –  The Visitors Centre, Narara Ecovillage, 25 Research Road, Narara, NSW 2250.

Dates –  Weekly from 5th March 2018

9:30 – 10:30 am – We focus on the practices taught in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses imbued the seven attitudinal foundations of mindfulness practice.

These approaches have a background in practices within the Buddhist tradition, specifically:

Four Foundations of Mindfulness

  • Awareness of the body
  • Awareness of feelings/ sensations
  • Awareness of the mind / thoughts
  • Awareness of reality

The Four Postures

  • Sitting
  • Walking
  • Standing
  • Lying down

These sessions include periods of yoga and qi-gong. Practices are guided and suitable for all, though eventual attendance of an 8-week MBSR course is highly recommended.

10:30 – 11:00 am – Tea break.

11:00 – 12:00 pm – The ‘ecoDharma’ Group explore the principles of  the Buddha-dharma.

Suitability – No experience necessary. Wear loose comfortable clothing : )
